Formosa Suite | A weekend between work and relax

Jacob and I arrived in Venice yesterday, around dinner time. He's the director of an important multinational company, while I manage the accounts, so our job allow us to see a lot of cities all over the world and, even if it keeps us apart sometimes, this time I'm going with him in the city of love. I can't count the luxury hotels I've been into, but I must say that the Ruzzini Palace is one of the most breathtaking ones. We chose to stay in the Formosa Suite for the next three days, because it's perfect for our needs. In particular, we have a meeting this afternoon and this suite has a special room for meetings inside.

Modern, luxury design

It's a bright apartment, and the furniture is by Philippe Starck, an important french designer of the second half of XX century. It's more modern than other suites, but it still preserves that solemn air of antiquity that characterizes all the hotel. The window is the one where the Doge Ruzzini used to look out, and when we arrived they explained us that the palace is a bit crooked because he wanted to see the entire basins of San Marco and San Giorgio from the window.

Useless to say, I am over the moon: I love the union of the modern luxury of the furniture with the Venetian tradition of the past, the paintings on the walls, the chandeliers. The bed is very big and yesterday evening, after a long, tiring flight from San Francisco I was so happy to see it, and to lay on it because the mattress is made to guarantee a perfect sleep for all the customers of the hotel.

Spoiling yourselves in the hotel

The hotel offers a lot of comforts, like breakfast in the room, that we had the pleasure to try this morning: bread and jam, coffee, milk and orange juice to begin this working day in the best way possible. The meeting will take all the afternoon, but the staff said it's possible to have some coffee taken directly in the room, when we will need a break to clear our minds.

For the night, after a hot bath I planned to enjoy the package “best sleep in Venice” that I heard so much of: it consists on a balancing massage in the room, with a relaxing herbal tea before sleep.
