Venice in Thirty Years: The Future Imagined at the Ruzzini Palace Hotel

In the heart of Venice, within the historic rooms of the Ruzzini Palace Hotel, the future takes shape through the lens of contemporary art.

With the exhibition “City in the Future”, promoted by NEXT ART, the hotel is transformed into a space of reflection and vision—a place where Venice is not only memory, but also possibility.

A private experience in the heart of the city

For this edition, the Ruzzini Palace Hotel hosted a curated selection of works imagining Venice thirty years from now. Not a prediction, but a multiplicity of perspectives: a transformed city, a fragile city, a reinvented city.

Far from the idea of a traditional exhibition, the hotel’s interiors become an integral part of the narrative. The artworks engage in dialogue with stucco, volumes, and natural light, creating a continuous contrast between past and future.

Contemporary art meets Venetian identity

Painting, photography, installation, and digital experimentation coexist within a journey that reflects the complexity of the present.

Among the artists featured are the painterly explorations of Cristina Dambra, Stefania Melis, and Mario Tessari, alongside the photographic visions of Graziano Giovanatto. The contemporary mosaic by Martina19è introduces a direct dialogue with Venetian tradition, while the installations expand the experience into a more immersive dimension.

Among the exhibited works is also a piece developed with the support of artificial intelligence—not as a spectacle, but as a creative tool capable of expanding artistic research.

The result is an experience that perfectly reflects the nature of Venice: a city that evolves without ever losing its identity.

An intimate experience, away from the crowds

Hosting a project such as “City in the Future” means opening the doors to a different kind of experience—more intimate, quieter, far from the main tourist routes. Here, art is discovered slowly, from one corridor to another, as part of a stay or a visit that becomes an opportunity for discovery.

Venice, between memory and future

At the Ruzzini Palace Hotel, the reflection on the city’s future is never abstract. It is tangible, visual, and rooted in one of the places that best represents Venetian history.

It is precisely in this dialogue—between what has been and what could be—that the experience finds its most authentic value.

Because imagining Venice thirty years from now also means learning to look at it differently today.
