The retrospective at the Tre Oci offer a large tribute to Willy Ronis (1910-2009), one of the great photographers of the 1900s and protagonist of the French humanist movement, along with masters such as Brassaï, Gilles Caron, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Raymond Depardon, Robert Doisneau, Izis, André Kertész, Jacques-Henri Lartigue and Marc Riboud. The 120 vintage images, including about ten never-before-seen images dedicated to Venice, retrace the entire career of the photographer, highlighting his contribution to the humanist movement, which, while not being codified by a formal manifesto, was constantly focused on the human condition and the simple humility of the quotidian in seeking out universal existential meaning.
